Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA)
FCA support and assists families and caregivers through education, advocacy and services. In addition to providing training to technical assistance to California’s Caregiver Resource Centers, FCA hosts the National Center on Caregiving (NCC). Consumer Directed Attendant Services (CDAS)
CDAS is a Medicaid program that provides personal care attendant services. This program allows certain family members, excluding spouses and legal guardians, to be hired and paid as the personal care attendant. This option is often referred to as “consumer direction”.

Maine Elderly and Adults with Disabilities Waiver
Maine’s Elderly and Adults with Disabilities Waiver program is a Medicaid (MaineCare) program that assists older adults and persons with disabilities to remain living at home. This program offers consumer direction, meaning, the care recipient can choose to self-direct their care to a person of their own choosing. This person may be a family member, excluding spouses and legal guardians. Services may include:

- Communication aids

- Non-medical transportation
